Promote and Sustain Health

The main purpose of Rasayana therapy is to impede the aging process and delay the degenerative processes in the body.

The Concept of rejuvenation, or Rasayana in Sanskrit, is unique to Ayurveda. In fact, Rasayana is one of the eight clinical specialties of classified Ayurveda. It includes a specialized area of knowledge in the form or rejuvenative recipes, dietary regimen and special health promoting conduct and behavior. Rasayana therapies aid in increasing natural immunity, enhancing general wellbeing, improving functions of fundamental organs of the body and keeping the signs of aging at bay.

Human body is made of basic structural units called cells. A collection of cells specialized to perform a particular function is called tissue. Tissues may be correlated to the concept of dhatu in Ayurveda. According to Ayurveda each dhatu has its own digestive power, called agni which could be loosely correlated to a modern term of cellular metabolism or functions of enzymes which promote the growth concept during the young ages. It is anabolic in nature by its function. As age sets in, the anabolic function of the cellular activity shifts towards catabolic activity. The destructive process is further exacerbated when human beings are being exposed to various diseases at a later stage of life. If this catabolic activity is somehow arrested the person can lead disease-free long life. The main purpose of Rasayana therapy is to impede the aging process and delay the degenerative processes in the body.

After taking Rasayana we can learn how to maintain a balance between the material and spiritual aspects of life and help others also to understand it.

The art of Rasayana is to select tools and methods specific to each individual to help him or her regain their lost health by repairing unhealthy dhatus (cell tissues) and promoting proper balance of three doshas (functional allergies). Such tools will be aimed at providing stability and strength to the muscles but also at stimulating enzymes responsible for digestion, metabolism and improving assimilation so that new and healthy body tissues could be built. Usually, Rasayana is a natural step to be undertaken after previous health imbalances have been addressed and the mind-body system has been brought into a state of balance. After taking Rasayana we can learn how to maintain a balance between the material and spiritual aspects of life and help others also to understand it. This will help in finding our own happiness and state of harmony!
